May I nominate Chance please?
This time last year, Chance was in a Tennessee Shelter, waiting for the day he'd get to meet me his Mama. We waited 6 long (extra stress on the looong) months before he came home. He hopped a ride to Ohio from Tennessee thanks to a very special Shelter Coordinator, Jerri! and her trustworthy assistant, Megawee.
Chance is a Mama's Boy. I can totally count on him to be following me around the house, or running ahead of me to get my attention, or pouncing at my feet and wrapping himself around my ankles. He plays hard, but he's also a complete love bug!
Chance is a total tone junkie, loves stuffed toys, and blankets. Especially his blue blanket he was given for Christmas last year from the Ferret Giving Tree.
This year, he has a home for Christmas and he'll be getting a new blankie, toys, treats, and lots of love!

I would like to nominate Lady G. (short for Lady GaGa). Lady G came to me in a small cage with pillow case tide in one corner(Hammock?) and eating Marshall's and walmart brand 8-in-1 food. She came with her ferret ball (the ones they use for hamsters, but bigger). Her owners said that she didn't get out much as they had several big dogs. She stank and needed her nails trimmed.
The first time I let this little girl out she, I thought that maybe they had given me a rabbit instead of a ferret!!! She jumped and ran and dooked and was completely thrilled! Her coat has since become super soft and the Marshall's smell is gone. Athena and her have bonded extremely well as I find them snuggled together all the time. That alone is a feat since Athena does not tolerate other female ferrets. Lady G. loves Sophie(my Pom/Chi) and has no fear of people or animal. She is a little Love!

Awh, my Bo baby!! Thanks you guys, it means alot because Bo has been feeling a bit better the passed two days... he was allowed out of the cage and played all night long with everyone(even jumped up in my bed a couple times lol), he was even up this morning, so I was able to give him meds and such
Thanks so much for your support everyone.. I was really feeling like I couldn't help him anymore. You guys helped me renew my faith that I could do it if I kept trying

Maybe my little princess button could be the W.O.W.? she's been through a lot... what with being found outside in the winter when she was only 5 or 6 months old, and then coming to live with me, and, last august, getting really sick and getting over it again! she's such a little trooper, and the boss of the gang! she makes all the boys (much bigger than her) do what she wants, etc. lol.

We are trying to raise enough money to buy 2 more FN cages for the shelter. I'd really like to do away with all other cages. I've posted a donation button on the website. For anyone donating $30 or more, I'll send you a Minky Super Snuggler! Just let me know your shipping address in the "notes" area of paypal.
I just look at their sad eyes when they come here and then a few weeks later when they are dooking around, I remember this is for the ones that couldn’t be saved.

When Damien was surrendered, I of course, asked his name. The lady turned bright red and said "Little s**t". I was dumbstruck! Who would name their ferret that??? Well, turns out he was named very correctly! LOL. But knowing I could not post that name on my website, it got changed to Damien. Scott calls them the devil's children and one of my volunteers calls them the Apple Dumpling Gang (always in trouble!)

Saturday's are the day when most of the volunteers come to help. I do have one occasionally during the week too. Anyway, this past Saturday I had a new volunteer, Kay. She cleaned over half the cages by herself! Thank you!
My true blue ladies also showed up. They cleaned the playpen and the floors. It looked fabulous! Thank you so very much!
We had enough time left over to do something special with the shelter kids so I drug out the peanut box and introduced them to it. They had a blast!
And Damien decided he could fly. He kept jumping off of M's head and flying over the side of the playpen. Luckily she is quick and caught him every time. Sure scared the bejebbers out of me though!
We also had an adoption! Parker and Diamond went to their new forever home. She's a first-time ferret owner but did a lot of research before deciding this was the pet she wanted. Her uncle owned ferrets when she was a child and he seems very knowledgeable. She asked all the right questions about caring for them and is insistant they be mostly free roam! These two babies will thrive in their new home.

Yes, they will be adopted as a bonded pair. They have been together since purchased as kits from the petstore. I'm anxious for them to get out of quarantine to see how they will do with other ferrets.

This older girl is 6 and just full of spunk. She has a chordoma on her tail which we will have removed surgically. Sorry for the quality of the pics, we were trying to get a good one of the chordoma.

Poor Vicky is not doing to well. Her adrenal is under control with oral melatonin but the tumor on her kidney is beginning to takes it's toll. I keep giving her as much attention as possible but she plays a little less each day. I'm terribly afraid her days left with us are numbered.
